D-Jetronic

The Bosch D-Jetronic was the first mass-produced electronic fuel injection system, developed by Bosch in the late 1960s. The “D” stands for Druck (pressure), as the system calculated the required amount of fuel based on intake manifold pressure.

Due to its age, this system is sensitive to contact and vacuum issues. The most common problems include aged connectors, vacuum leaks, inaccurate sensors, clogged injectors, and fuel pressure irregularities.

With proper maintenance and precise adjustment, however, the D-Jetronic can still operate reliably and consistently today!

A carefully tuned and maintained D-Jetronic system is not only a piece of automotive history but also the key to the smooth-running engines of its era.
