Accurate diagnostics are the foundation of every successful Bosch K-Jetronic repair. Problems such as poor cold or hot starting, unstable idle, reduced engine performance or increased fuel consumption can only be identified through systematic testing and precise measurements.
For this Mercedes-Benz 500 SL (R107) equipped with the legendary M117 V8 engine, we carried out a comprehensive inspection of the Bosch K-Jetronic mechanical fuel injection system. The diagnostic process included system pressure, control pressure and residual pressure testing, together with a detailed inspection of the fuel distributor, airflow sensor plate, injectors and associated mechanical and electrical components.
Replacing parts without proper diagnosis often results in unnecessary expense and unresolved faults. Every K-Jetronic system should first be evaluated against factory specifications before any repairs or adjustments are carried out.
