2026. 06. 08.

A complete cylinder head rebuild and reassembly carried out on a classic Porsche 924 2.0 K-Jetronic engine. The project included inspection, cleaning, careful assembly and installation to restore reliability while preserving the original driving character of this iconic transaxle Porsche.

At OTC Garage Hungary, we recently completed the cylinder head rebuild of a classic Porsche 924 2.0 K-Jetronic engine. The objective was to restore long-term reliability while preserving the original driving characteristics that make these early transaxle Porsches so enjoyable to own and drive.

The project began with a thorough inspection and cleaning of the cylinder head and its components. Once all parts had been assessed and prepared, the reassembly process could begin.

Special attention was given to the valve train, camshaft installation and the condition of all critical components. During assembly, all moving parts were properly lubricated and every fastener was tightened according to factory specifications to ensure correct operation and long-term durability.

Following the cylinder head rebuild, the engine was reassembled and the intake system, together with the Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection components, was carefully reinstalled. The result is a mechanically refreshed engine that remains true to its original design while being ready for final adjustments and continued service.

The Porsche 924's 2.0-litre engine combined with the Bosch K-Jetronic mechanical fuel injection system represents an important chapter in automotive engineering. Maintaining these systems requires not only the correct tools and procedures, but also an understanding of how the mechanical and fuel systems work together.

At OTC Garage Hungary, we specialize in the diagnosis, repair and restoration of Bosch K-Jetronic systems as well as the maintenance and preservation of classic and youngtimer vehicles. Our goal is always to deliver reliable results while respecting the originality and engineering heritage of every vehicle that enters our workshop.
